Beta Displays

Boundaries boundaries boundaries...

Testing = different ways to show the same damn thing

And some ways are better than others.
I haven't found it yet.

Cracking Cup!

I made this cup a little while ago with the help of this man http://www.how-come.co.uk/person/chuly-lee/
But its only just been finished now!
Chuly (master) said a lot of cracks have come up but it looks far more interesting cracked than smooth.

The handle is next to useless :)
Bye bye!

STAMPEDE!

Its been a while since I've had to draught anything by hand.
Stamp for an up coming show

You can see all the miscalculations when it comes to fitting text around a circle. Can you remember when people actually did this?
In fact, I'm sure some people still do. They're probably the good ones. The chosen few who'll get all the pies.

Liancourt Rocks

Read an article about a South Korean footballer declaring  his stance on a territorial dispute beween Japan.

The territory involves a pair of islets which I found stunning. Surrounded by sea it's easy to sink in to a poetical reverie about these two guys (so I'll let you do that...)

But I feel like the issue brings an interesting group of elements together - sport, territorial claims, resources, war and beauty.

From a perspective of deep time, where volcanoes coughed out these islets that are now quickly eroding, this pair seemed to have landed in the midst of catty squabblers - most of whom don't live on the island. There's a traditional, yet absurd, dimension to people when they shout out, 'Mine!' for things they may never have seen or touched.

I found this quote via the Google super computer;

"I believe that greed and competition are not a result of immutable human temperament; I have come to the conclusion that greed and fear of scarcity are in fact being continuously created and amplified as a direct result of the kind of money we are using... The direct consequence is that we have to fight with each other in order to survive." - Bernard Lietaer
